Community Development

At HUNT, the communities we serve are the places where we live, work, raise our families, volunteer, and spend time with our neighbors. That’s why giving back has been part of HUNT for decades, that commitment continues through volunteer efforts, fundraising, sponsorships, food drives, charitable contributions, and—most importantly—our people giving their time.

Graduating from college is a big accomplishment. But once the excitement of graduation starts to settle in, there’s another important decision ahead: Where do you want to begin your career? For engineers, architects, surveyors, landscape architects, and other professionals entering the A/E industry, your first job can have a lasting impact on the skills you develop, the projects you work on, and the professional you become.

In 2025, HUNT helped communities obtain $ 28,978,328 million through various grant programs, leveraging approximately $50 million in infrastructure improvements and community development. HUNT’s grant services enable these essential projects, improving residents’ quality of life.

Construction is officially underway on a new market-rate housing community directly across from HUNT’s Horseheads office on Daniel Zenker Drive — giving our team a front-row seat to watch a project move from planning into reality.

When communities, municipalities, school districts, and private clients invest in infrastructure, facilities, and public improvements, they need more than a consultant. They need a trusted partner who understands how projects connect, how funding impacts decisions, and how to deliver results that have served people for decades.

At HUNT, infrastructure is more than roads, water systems, buildings, and utilities. It's the foundation that supports everyday life. It connects neighborhoods, protects public health, creates opportunities for economic growth, and helps communities prepare for the future.

For many school districts, summer is often viewed as the season for construction. Classrooms are empty, schedules are flexible, and work can happen with minimal disruption to students and staff.
