At HUNT, technology design is about more than wires, devices, and networks — it’s about creating smarter, more connected environments that help clients prepare for the future. Leading that effort is Corey Hopper, Sr. Technology Designer and Associate at HUNT, whose passion for technology has powered innovative solutions for clients across the region for the past 10 years.

A self-proclaimed “Gadget Guy,” Corey has always been fascinated by how things click, beep, shine, and tick. That curiosity evolved into a career focused on helping organizations understand their infrastructure and connectivity needs while building scalable systems that can adapt to tomorrow’s technological demands.
One of the most impactful examples of HUNT’s technology-first approach was the Elmira City School District’s district-wide Smart Schools Bond Act upgrade. As part of the multi-million-dollar initiative, HUNT’s Technology Group designed and delivered a comprehensive $14 million technology modernization project that enhanced wireless connectivity in every school and classroom across the district. The project also included upgraded radio systems and expanded security camera coverage to improve communication and safety district wide.

For Corey, successful technology design starts with listening. Before any plans were developed, Corey and the HUNT team worked closely with district leaders to understand their goals, challenges, and long-term needs. From there, the team developed solutions that maximized the district’s investment while creating a technology infrastructure built for future growth.
K-12 projects hold special meaning for Corey. With a mother who dedicated 37 years to public education, he understands the responsibility that comes with investing taxpayer dollars into school improvements. That perspective drives his commitment to helping districts make informed, cost-effective technology decisions that directly benefit students, teachers, and communities.
Corey’s background brings a unique depth of experience to HUNT. Before joining the firm, he helped establish the Data Center for Corning Incorporated, worked in Information Security for the Department of Defense, and served in the U.S. Navy as a Fiber Optics Installer. Those experiences shaped the technical expertise and problem-solving mindset he brings to every project.
“I get a lot of joy from helping clients find solutions to their technology challenges,” Corey said. “HUNT supports me with the tools and resources I need to do my job well, and that’s one of the reasons I love working here.”
At HUNT, technology design is ultimately about partnership — helping clients navigate rapidly changing technology while creating systems that keep communities connected for years to come.
