Hunt Engineers, Architects, Land Surveyors & Landscape Architect, DPC (HUNT) announces that Kristi Rathbun, PE has accepted an offer from the current shareholders to join them as an owner of the firm at HUNT, joining the existing 12 members of the ownership team.
Kristi is a Structural Engineer with 28 years of experience in the building design. She joined HUNT in 2006 and has worked in a wide variety of markets with a focus on K-12 projects. She is responsible for structural design and detailing of building structures as well as project coordination and project management. Her work in projects carries through initial schematic design phases to the completion of construction. Kristi first earned her Professional Engineering license in 1997 in Virginia, then became licensed in New York and Pennsylvania in 2014.
Kristi was the structural engineer for the award-winning project for the Alternative School for Math and Science in Corning, NY.
“I take pride in the work we do here at HUNT and our involvement in creating buildings that enrich our community,” Kristi said.
Due to her vast knowledge of structural design and building construction, Kristi is an invaluable resource to HUNT and her coworkers. She regularly mentors employees across disciplines the intricacies of building a structures as well as younger staff members.
Kristi became an Associate in 2013 by consistently showing leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to the firm.
She is a member of the American Concrete Institute, the American Institute of Steel Construction and the Wells Township, PA Planning Commission.
She and her husband and fellow HUNT shareholder, Darin, currently reside in Gillett, PA. They have two children, Jarrod, 22 and Brianna, 20 who both attend Penn State Behrend. Kristi says the most important activity they do is spend time with their family. They enjoy outdoor activities such as camping, kayaking, and recently Kristi and Darin purchased a small RV that they take on weekend trips.
