Allinger said that the project will be the water system’s first major upgrade since it was originally established in the early 1970s. He also said that the project’s estimated cost is between $9 million and $12 million, which will depend on how much work the town can complete using available bonds and grants. HUNT Engineers, Architects & Surveyors has been working with the town for the past several years to determine the scope of the project.

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – Another railroad bridge in Binghamton has been transformed from unsafe and unsightly to looking nearly new.

For years, it was assumed that local leaders had no leverage over rail companies who privately own their bridges and are regulated by the federal government.

Kraham paid Hunt Engineers, Architects and Surveyors $41,000 to inspect 25 bridges across the city and found 15 of them in poor or severe condition.

To start this process, council recently approved a professional service agreement with Hunt Engineers, Architects & Surveyors for the design work.

Following an initial site visit, Christopher Keiser, team leader, project manager for the company, and city personnel were able to identify what improvements were able to be done using CDBG funds, said Austin Daily, housing program manager with the city Department of Community and Economic Development and Planning.
