Owego Groundwater Wellhouse

Client

Town of Owego

Floodwaters had inundated the existing groundwater Depot Street and Main Street well houses as well as overtopped the existing well casings. HUNT assisted the communities in negotiating successful project budgets through FEMA to cover all damage incurred and rebuild each well house without financial contribution from the Town.

Existing well houses were demolished, wells rehabilitated, and new well houses erected to include a new masonry building constructed at an elevation above the highest flood of record. The buildings included separate pump rooms and chemical rooms. Chemical equipment was re-sized based upon raw water quality data of the existing groundwater source. All chemical systems were flow paced using meter output and downstream in-line analyzers.

Groundwater well pumps were re-sized and replaced while provided with an emergency back-up power supply.
