Horseheads Central School District

HUNT has partnered with Horseheads Central School District for over 25 years, working with the District on a diverse portfolio of capital improvement projects that span the entire Horseheads campus as well as a BCS and 5-year plan in 2015. Most recently, HUNT has designed and completed the first of three possible capital projects planned to maximize state building aid and minimize the cost of improvements on local taxes. We started by providing the District with our Public Information Programming (PIP) services — working with the administration to leverage local support for essential renovations.

Thanks to the PIP campaign, voters approved the first capital project for $96 million in 2017. This initial project was focused mainly on the High School and Middle School, with some basic operational and safety system projects in the district elementary schools. Major transformations at the High School included the installation of a multi-purpose stadium, the renovation of the cafeteria/kitchen, a modern library addition, and upgraded classrooms. In the middle school, there were renovations to the cafeteria/kitchen as well as technology and science classroom upgrades. Parking lot and mechanical/electrical system updates were made at the elementary school. The first phase is nearing completion and is expected to wrap up in the fall of 2022.
