Unity Villages

Client

Rochester Regional Health

After investing $90 million in comprehensive upgrading of their entire campus, the Unity team turned their attention to The Villages at Unity assisted living facility on the north side of the complex in late 2013. Interior upgrades to the corridors, lounges, main lobby space, and individual apartments quickly evolved to include renovations to the dining facility and serving areas as well.

HUNT’s designers took their charge from the Unity and Gardner PLUS leadership to provide “dynamic, uplifting spaces”. Included in HUNT’s efforts were the following: lobby updates and expansion; overall circulation; dining and kitchen facilities; lighting and HVAC upgrades; floor and wall finishes; and the selection of furniture, artwork, and accessories.

Originally built in 1990, the “new” Villages will include a 20-apartment memory center; an exercise room aimed at facilitating a variety of enrichment activities including yoga, weight training, and aerobics; a dedicated meditation room; and community center.
