Senior Technology Designer

About the Role
HUNT-EAS is seeking a Senior Technology Designer to join our collaborative and multidisciplinary team. In this role, you’ll plan, design, and specify a broad range of technology and communication infrastructure systems for projects across K–12 education, municipal, healthcare, multi-family housing, and higher education markets.
This team member will be deeply involved in project planning, budgeting, and construction coordination, working closely with both clients and internal design teams to deliver integrated, reliable technology solutions. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, solutions-driven professional who values high-quality work, teamwork, and contributing to vibrant community environments.
Key Responsibilities
Design and specify structured technology systems and networks, including:
Ethernet LAN (copper and fiber)
Network routing and switching
Wide Area Networks (WAN) and Passive Optical Networks (PON)
Wireless LAN and Power over Ethernet (PoE) standards
Audio/Video systems and instructional technology
Power distribution for Information Technology Equipment (ITE) spaces
Mentor junior designers by providing guidance on the technical aspects of the design process.
Conduct quality control reviews on the work of others.
Preferred experience with:
Physical access control systems
IP-based security camera systems
Collaborate with project teams on planning, budgeting, and scheduling
Develop technical drawings, specifications, and 3D models using Revit and AutoCAD
Coordinate with engineers, architects, and external stakeholders to ensure cohesive, code-compliant designs
Participate in construction administration including contractor coordination, submittal reviews and site visits
Stay current with applicable industry codes, standards, and evolving technologies

Qualifications
Senior-level experience in low-voltage or technology systems design
Strong working knowledge of communications infrastructure, industry standards (e.g., BICSI, NEC, EIA/TIA), building codes, and IT integration
Proficiency with Revit (preferred), AutoCAD, and other design software
Effective communicator with excellent coordination and documentation skills
Ability to interpret and create detailed construction documents
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, technology systems, or related field preferred
Previous experience in a multidisciplinary or consulting environment a plus
