Entry Level Mechanical Engineer/Technician

About the Role
This new team member will work alongside our MEP team to assist with mechanical system designs, equipment selections, load calculations, and the preparation of engineering documents. The role involves supporting senior engineers, incorporating industry standards and building codes, and learning best practices for HVAC, plumbing, and energy-efficient building systems.
This role is open to our Horseheads, NY office, with potential options for relocation to our Binghamton, NY, Rochester, NY, or Towanda, PA offices after a probationary period.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the design and drafting of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical building systems.
Perform load calculations, system sizing, and equipment selections to support project designs.
Utilize AutoCAD and Revit to develop and modify design layouts and construction drawings.
Research and apply relevant building codes, energy codes, and industry standards.
Support senior engineers in preparing technical reports, specifications, and cost estimates.
Collaborate with internal teams and clients to ensure project success.

Qualifications
0-4 years of experience in mechanical engineering, HVAC design, or related fields.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred; candidates with relevant experience but no degree will be considered.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word (Revit experience is a plus).
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively.
Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and energy-efficient mechanical systems is preferred.
Holds an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or is eligible to obtain one within one year.
Ability to work independently as a self-starter with strong motivation to learn, adapt, and take initiative in a dynamic environment.
