DUNN FIELD
Following some emergency repairs at Dunn Field prior to the 2016 baseball season, the City of Elmira called on HUNT to develop a plan to prioritize needs for the 100-year-old stadium. The result was a four-year capital plan that immediately resulted in first-year seating reinforcements, masonry repairs, and comprehensive ADA accessibility upgrades.
Second and third-year improvements, spearheaded by HUNT, included additional seating-framing, railing upgrades, and slab reconstruction.
Structural, steel cleaning, and painting are scheduled for year four. These cooperative corrective and preventative maintenance items were heralded by the community and design partners as important steps in extending the stadium’s service life.
