MILL STREET BRIDGE OVER CHEQUAGA FALLS
HUNT was retained by Schuyler County to complete preliminary and final design along with Construction Inspection for the rehabilitation of the three hinged steel arch bridge that carries Mill Street over Chequaga Falls in the heart of the Village of Montour Falls under the federally funded BridgeNY Program.
Rehabilitation of this bridge will include cleaning and repainting of the existing steel arch, restoration of the arch bearings, concrete abutment and pier repairs, replacement of select deteriorated steel members and rivets, removal of the existing longitudinal timber deck and replacement with a new composite concrete deck and construction of new bridge rail and approach guiderail.
Rehabilitation of this bridge using federal funds will allow this historically significant landmark structure that was designed and constructed by a local firm, the Seneca Engineering Company, back in 1949 to remain open and functioning for years to come.
Construction of this bridge was completed in 2019.
