Corning Hospital Site Evaluation Study

Project Description: HUNT was selected to assist Guthrie Healthcare System in the site assessment process for their new hospital. A site selection team made up of five members of the Corning Strategic Planning Group was formed to guide the process, and a site screening report was developed using a three-part process: Potential site identification; site screening and analysis; and site selection. HUNT met with Three Rivers Development Corporation, Southern Tier Central regional Planning Board staff and with representatives from the local business communityto identify potential sites within the geographic study area (west to Coopers Plains, east to the Steuben/Chemung County line and south to approximately the Route 15/Route 417 Interchange in Erwin). Out of this process, 16 sites were identified. After reviewing information about the potential sites, the site selection team identified seven for site screening and analysis, and that information was then presented in a matrix form to assist the Site Selection Team with their decisions.
