Village of Savona Water System

  • Project Description: Residents within the Village of Savona relied upon individual groundwater supply wells to provide a potable water supply.  However, inadequate separation distance between the individual groundwater supply wells and the individual on-site septic systems resulted in contamination of a significant number of private groundwater water supply wells. Engineering design included two 180-gallon-per-minute groundwater supply wells, 40,000 L.F. of ductile iron water distribution piping and a new 350,000 gallon water storage facility. This project is a Platinum Award winner in the ACECNY 2011 Engineering Excellence Awards.
