Hornell City School District

  • Project Description: The Hornell City School District engaged HUNT to evaluate the physical condition of all of its existing facilities and to develop a plan for addressing overcrowding in the Junior/Senior High School. The two-year-long planning process, which came to be known as "Vision 2012," started with meetings with a community facilities planning committee and progressed to meetings with district administrators, faculty, staff and students. HUNT developed a district-wide conceptual plan for reorganizing the district's grade levels and consolidating the schools into a grade 9-12 high school, 5-8 middle school and PK-4 elementary school. To relieve congestion on the district's existing school sites, the plan also included consolidating the district's maintenance, receiving and transportation facilities in one location on a new site.  The project also included a $5.9 million district-wide technology upgrade.
  • Completion Date: Ongoing
