Ribbon Cutting Events Mark Project Milestones
Monday, June 20, 2011Two recent ribbon-cutting events mark milestones for successfully completed HUNT projects.
On Saturday, February 12, the Moravia Central School District hosted two consecutive dedication ceremonies, one at their new vehicle maintenance facility, followed by a second event at the Elementary School Auditorium. The new bus garage includes a wash bay, improved vehicle maintenance bays, and computerized part storage room. The elementary school renovations include a new auditorium, music rooms, renovated main office and lobby, and safety and energy improvements throughout the districts. The day was filled with events for the public, including facility tours by members of the administration.
In Waverly on February 19, Mayor Kyle McDuffee and two former Mayors were joined by representatives of local, state, and federal government at ribbon cutting ceremonies and a
public open house at the Village’s new offices on Ithaca Street. About 100 community members participated in ceremonies, which included the color guard raising a flag that had been flown over the U.S. Capital Building. Following brief ceremonies, the public was invited to tour the renovated former school building, which now houses vaiiage offices, police and fire offices and dispatch, and the courtroom and adjacent facilities.
